BEHIND THE SCENES-Beach Art
Two different recent beach/ocean abstract impasto commissions. (how many more adjectives can I fit in there?) My ocean work is also a very popular aspect of my original art work and is weekly commissioned in many different sizes and colors to fit clients spaces. Stage 3 Commission
The third and final stages of a large commission for a lovely family. Found here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/116759610/custom-commision-golden-forest-textured?ref=shop_home_feat_1
A lot of commissions end up being tweaked to add colors or changes that reflect a clients personal idea. This time a blue/grey was added to tie in the home owners floor and lighting currently in the home and leaves near the top. The family loves the new art and and can't wait to send photos when they have it hung professionally-which I will then hopefully share here!

Some creativity in my own home!
I'm finally feeling more settled from the move I made this summer and starting to put some finishing touches on rooms (for now). I always like to change things up, especially paint colors on the walls. This is part of the master but it won't stay this color forever. Already brainstorming ideas for that. Ah, life of an artist, overactive mind.
The deer antlers are actually from the year I was born, given to me by my grandpa. The hooks I picked up from an antique fair and are vintage/antique from old homes. A fun touch of old and new here, as I have old and new jewelry as well. Some of this art is available in my Etsy store as well!

One last trip to the beach!
Well, those wonderful beach days do not have to end just because summer is! I create beach zen themed art all year around. My art hangs in condos, vacation homes and all over for this specific reason. Bringing the things we love close to home, all year around, no matter the weather.
I hope everyone has had a great summer in the USA and for those parts of the world where it is summer all year around or coming soon for you, well...do you have a spare room? *wink
Cheers,
VL

BZZZZZ! Off to a new destination.
Snapped some photos with my iphone as I said good bye to one of my favorite drawings of all time. I love honey bees and what they do for the entire environment is amazing. Pollinating flowers and our food supply every year. As well as making honey. This drawing is off to D.C. and now is currently a made to order item in different sizes in my Etsy store. You can find that here: Buzzzz on over to my online store by clicking this sentence!

Weddings!
This painting was purchased by a client in Wisconsin after she was married in a field just like this one she related to me. I'm always overjoyed when people share why they purchase my art or what memory it reminds them of. Art is special, personal and one of a kind. Thank you for your support!

Free Finds!
This large cedar wood TV (?) stand was left in the barn of the house I purchased a few weeks ago. I coerced some family members to help me move it, cleaned it off and it has worked perfect for storing all my different paints and *some* of my canvas. I have a very large storage closet in my lovely basement that is now holding most finished pieces. It is amazing to have the perfect storage as an artist. I'm very into being organized and with the move it certainly has been an adventure trying to get back to that point again.
Currently I'm repainting my studio, as you see in these photos it is brown. Which I was not the biggest fan of so I'm doing a turquoise mist color it is called. First coat is down and it is SO much brighter in here. With all the windows and natural light it really is the perfect studio space. I love it so much and can not wait to show off the final product. Along with curtains that will divide my studio from the rest of the house. A little bit of privacy but not too much so I can still keep track of the little people.
Stop back by for more photos very soon! Transformations abound. *wink

Yay!
I'm finally all moved and getting organized, settled and feeling a little but more sane.
I have custom orders I just started working on yesterday, after I picked up supplies. I love purchasing supplies at the art store and then starting a new commission in my new studio. SO refreshing. Great feeling.
Currently my studio is a brown taupe color-which I'm not a fan of-all over the walls. I prefer something much more fresh and airy feeling so it is being painted a turquoise mist. Which is not bright at all but more of a warm blue with a grey tint. Of course I will show it off once finished! Stay tuned.
My studio is also FULL of windows and sky lights. It really is a dreamy studio space and I feel so lucky to be creating in here. Before if you do not know I was in a studio space in a basement at my previous house. It worked but it was not very inviting or inspiring. Now I look out into nothing from my windows into corn fields, my pool and trees. All this with high speed internet...score! It is amazing.
I also downsized my house a bit so a lot less to clean for me and more yard to be enjoyed. Along with yes, a pool! This will mean more time being creative, being inspired and enjoying picnics on the lawn.
I hope in the next few weeks to be doing some new creations, I have had a lot of ideas floating around in my head for the end of summer and beginning of fall. Come back here and check soon, bound to be some new photos and fun happening.
Have a great rest of your day...
Cheers
