This evening.

I worked on an abstract painting I had been mulling over in my mind. I'm not sure what I will title it yet though I have some ideas in process. This art work should be posted tomorrow in my Etsy Original Painting Store.

I did tried something new and unique with this painting, I blotted tissue paper in the clouds and sky area. Once the tissue paper became heavy with paint I let it rest and become attached by drying to the canvas. I really love the texture that came from the paint and the tissue paper. This is a really one of a kind piece with lots of things to look at and enjoy.

This Evening

Some photos I snapped tonight while I finished up some paintings. The wooden heart was sort of an experiment but I'm happy with how it came out and will list it soon. The silver painting was a commission. I love it, it is so simple but a great metallic pop of statement.

Commision for Kate-Green Infusd Aspens

Here are some photos that I took while creating a commission for a client. She asked for the addition of a similar color green that would match the paint on the walls in their home. Custom art is so much fun, being able to make something truly special for someone is a great feeling. Especially when I showed Kate the finished product and she responded that is was exactly what they were looking for. Really makes me happy that I can do this for people. That I'm paid for it is a plus ;)

Here below are the finished photos of the art work. And you can find it in my Etsy store by clicking HERE. Thank you for stopping by my art blog.

Stormy Seas

I created the first "Stormy Seas" triptych last year in a small block creation. (see first photo) It received so many likes but just sold last week. Before the smaller version sold I was commissioned to create a larger version. (size 12x36 shown in remaining photos) I do love painting larger art. I have since sold another commissioned version of this art work. I for see even more in the future. I feel this art work is subtle but powerful, especially given the name. The addition of metallic silver into the painting gives even more emotion. What are your thoughts when you see this impasto art work?

See below for photos during the creation process. Click this link to see the painting in my Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/listing/178931772/custom-commission-12x36-three-panel

Another Favorite. Resides in California.

This painting sold to a collector in California. It was truly one of a kind and one of my favorites I have ever painted. There was so much diversity in texture and marriage of color in this painting. Even though I re create paintings frequently, I think I'm going to let this be the only piece like this.

A little about Me.

I'm currently 26...Though I'm mistakenly pegged for being in the 16-22 age range frequently. I try to always tell people that I'm "rapidly approaching my thirties"; as when in public I tend to be treated like a young teenager until some one figures out that is not the case. (which yes can be a bit maddening at times) I would say looking young runs in my family. My mother just turned 50 and a few years back someone thought she was my older sister. To me age is nothing but a number and I tend to gather friends of all different ages. I like diversity. In many forms.

I also have a twin sister, being petite I also try to tell people I'm half a person... As being under 100lbs really does not help me look my age. HAH! All things I will come to appreciate with time right?

I'm a self taught artist though I did briefly attend an art college in Chicago right out of high school. Which was for fashion design. I currently do not have time to design and make clothes like I use too but I hope to get to that some time in the next 20 years. (laughs)

For now my twin sister and I weekly go to thrift markets and gather up vintage clothing to p arose around in. Gives us good laughs and many more compliments then you would think. We are both into that re use, reduce, recycle mindset.

I do hope in the next year to attend some work shops and art institute gatherings to further widen my inner art circle. As well as meet people who are like minded and think in the same artistic manner as myself. Which would be thinking we are completely calculated in every move when in reality I call myself and my mind a bunny trail. One thing to the next. But honestly I'm very organized....No seriously...I thrive on things being in their place.

As I say this I think I need to go to my studio and clean up a bit...

Cheers ;)
