Free Finds!

This large cedar wood TV (?) stand was left in the barn of the house I purchased a few weeks ago. I coerced some family members to help me move it, cleaned it off and it has worked perfect for storing all my different paints and *some* of my canvas. I have a very large storage closet in my lovely basement that is now holding most finished pieces. It is amazing to have the perfect storage as an artist. I'm very into being organized and with the move it certainly has been an adventure trying to get back to that point again.
Currently I'm repainting my studio, as you see in these photos it is brown. Which I was not the biggest fan of so I'm doing a turquoise mist color it is called. First coat is down and it is SO much brighter in here. With all the windows and natural light it really is the perfect studio space. I love it so much and can not wait to show off the final product. Along with curtains that will divide my studio from the rest of the house. A little bit of privacy but not too much so I can still keep track of the little people.
Stop back by for more photos very soon! Transformations abound. *wink

Yay!

I'm finally all moved and getting organized, settled and feeling a little but more sane.

I have custom orders I just started working on yesterday, after I picked up supplies. I love purchasing supplies at the art store and then starting a new commission in my new studio. SO refreshing. Great feeling.

Currently my studio is a brown taupe color-which I'm not a fan of-all over the walls. I prefer something much more fresh and airy feeling so it is being painted a turquoise mist. Which is not bright at all but more of a warm blue with a grey tint. Of course I will show it off once finished! Stay tuned.

My studio is also FULL of windows and sky lights. It really is a dreamy studio space and I feel so lucky to be creating in here. Before if you do not know I was in a studio space in a basement at my previous house. It worked but it was not very inviting or inspiring. Now I look out into nothing from my windows into corn fields, my pool and trees. All this with high speed internet...score! It is amazing.

I also downsized my house a bit so a lot less to clean for me and more yard to be enjoyed. Along with yes, a pool! This will mean more time being creative, being inspired and enjoying picnics on the lawn.

I hope in the next few weeks to be doing some  new creations, I have had a lot of ideas floating around in my head for the end of summer and beginning of fall. Come back here and check soon, bound to be some new photos and fun happening.

Have a great rest of your day...
Cheers

Hop Hop!

The wonderful woman Audrey who purchased this original bunny art work framed it and sent a photo of the inspiration that caused her to purchase my ink and charcoal drawing. I'm truly flatted she took the time to send me these photos. Aren't they darling? I just LOVE bunnies. I'm like a child when I see one outdoors. I squeal. AH! Look at the bunny. Once I get moved and settled again I can not wait to draw some more bunnies-I'm pretty sure I became even more inspired seeing these photos of Audreys pet bunny.

More consistent blogging and new work will be coming once I'm moved and settled. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful holiday weekend (Americans!)

Cheers
